CachyOS customization

Hello to everyone!

Im new to CachyOS and small experience on linux but i dont like windows so i wanna to try something new like linux. I believe the CachyOS very good option and customizible.

I’ve done some configurations for CachyOS so far, but I’m stuck trying to customize bellow.

Manifactor logo with spinner on boot
Change the global shortcuts
System sounds
Control the exacly size of icons on taskbar
Add gap between icons & taskbar
Add gap between time & date

I can’t find settings for this anywhere, even on the .conf files. Can someone help me pls? I would appreciate.

Don’t know what manifactor is.
What shortcuts? You can edit the kde menu applications with a right click, and then add them to your task bar. Shortcuts on the Desktop: with a right click > properties > application. Shortcuts in Dolphin as well. And if you want links, here is the info (you can also add links with dolphin).
Go to System Settings Notifications Application Settings Plasma Workspace Configure Events

4 to 6: right click on the task bar to enter edit mode, and then use the settings there & also right click on the elements to access their settings.

Theme changes needs to be done over the settings config of KDE.
Some changes also needs to be done manually via config - but im not deeply into theming KDE.

Related to the gap:
You can right click on your taskbar and then use “Enter Edit Mode”. There you can also add a gap.

1: I mean the initial logo that my laptop have (Lenovo). I use systemd-boot as a bootloader.

2-3: You right, i found the settings thanks!

4-5: Icon-only Task Manager -> configurate -> From there only i can control the space between icons not the size. I can only change the size of icons if i change the height of panel. But this is not that i want. I have the same problem for System Tray icons. I see only fixed options, “Small”, “Large”. I can’t control the exact number of size.

6: For Time & Date, i can’t find an options to add space between, only to change the fonts, i have try this but seems not working.

4-5: That’s all we have in KDE. You can precisely edit the icon sizes with the XFCE desktop environment, so you can install that if you want (but KDE has imho more features other than these fine grained details).

6: I don’t think that’s possible.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been busy.

I know about plymouth but i don’t want to use an extra package for this job, i think i can do it from the “loder.conf” file. I have done some change but this only hide the logs, i’m not sure what configuration needed.

About icons and Time & Date, KDE does not give me the option to add gap “up - down” only to the “left - right” or to cotrol the icons size, but i believe i can change this from a configuration file. But I’m not sure where i can finds this .conf files.

PS: How can i upload image here to expain better that i’m saying?

I unfortunately don’t know more than what I already told you.

Regarding KDE, if you want to go into KDE config files, I recommend you will get the best help on the KDE community forums.
