Broken icons when app is running.

This problem exists only when app is running otherwise is fine.

As you can see in image Stremio is shows unknown icon and Vim is not showing the right icon but the terminal icon. Is there a away to fix this?

I have seen this problem with wayland. Usually using X11 will fix the problem. You could try using X11 to confirm if this is the same issue.

I’ve got the same problem on wayland. Some apps, for example cachy-browser, is not represent with correct icon. On X11 icons look as expected.

Yeah under X11 is working correct, only the Vim icon is shows “Terminal” icon instead to “Vim” but the unknown icon problem is gone now. But i wanna to use Wayland because i have some freezing issues under X11, i have AMD CPU.

Broken icons: Solved myself

Open gnome terminal (alt+f2) and type lg
Navigate to Windows
Open the app that has broken icon
Find wmclass and copy the value
Navigate to /usr/share/applications/application-name.desktop
Open the file and modify StartupWMClass to be the same as is on gnome terminal, if the StartupWMClass does not exist, create it.
