The transition from regular firefox with various analogous plugins to cachy-browser/librewolf has been pretty positive in that the browser seems to feel a bit more snappy and with lower resource utilization. Major kudos and appreciation to the team!
I did run into a few issues which I’m not sure if they’re related to the privacy focused nature of the project. Pragmatically I I hope there are workarounds/tweaked settings so I can exclusively use cachy-browser when I’m on the road collaborating with different colleagues via Whatsapp. So the 2 issues are:
Captive portal detection, like at coffee shops and co-working spaces is not functioning correctly. The problem seems to be be related to access redirection and possible name resolution/certificate validation ?
The second issue is related to web.whatsapp device linking. The generated QR code in the browser does not seem to trigger any browser action to connect with phone’s session. Is the browser inhibiting proper QR code construction or action ?
Are there particular settings in about:config that can affect these behaviors ?
Thanks for your support of this amazing work!
